PRAYER REQUESTS

During the assembly several of our Sisters shared their experiences of living our call to serve as missionary disciples. For 50 years our Sisters in Mexico have served the indigenous Mayan people in the community of San Cristobal de la Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. Sisters Helena Im and Francisca Quintero Osorio train health promoters to respond to the health needs in the numerous mountain communities. Sister Linh Dao, along with the help of Sister Carol Monzon and Rosa Sanchez, created and led medical missions to Chiapas to train health promoters and support the medical needs of the indigenous people. Between 2019 and 2021, our Sisters Jane Rudolph, Mary Teresa Parker, Mary Catherine Antczak, and Dulce Sarai Aguilar Rodríguez helped Casa Alitas, sponsored by the Catholic Communities Services in the Tucson diocese, serve migrants waylayed at the Mexican border. Sister Mary Sean Hodges shared about her 20 years serving the incarcerated through the Partnership for Re-Entry Program (PREP) she created which supports prisoners in doing the inner work of growth and transformation that is needed to be released from prison and live a productive life. From 2015 – 2023, Sister María Reina Perea directed the Sisters Leadership Development Initiative funded by the Hilton Foundation to provide Education in Leadership and Technology skills to 14 cohorts involving 353 women religious leaders in Mexico and 15 other Latin American countries.
